Ian Wright sends confident message to Chelsea fans about Alvaro Morata
The Arsenal legend is backing Alvaro Morata to be a big hit at Chelsea despite a mixed start to his Blues career

Alvaro Morata has the pedigree to succeed at Chelsea, according to Ian Wright.
The Spain international was signed in a £58m deal from La Liga giants Real Madrid last month after Morata struggled to tie down a regular starting spot in Zinedine Zidane’s first-team.
Chelsea were initially linked with a move to sign Romelu Lukaku but the Belgian forward opted to move to Manchester United instead of a return to his former club.
Morata missed his spot-kick in Chelsea’s loss to Arsenal on penalties in the Community Shield at Wembley earlier this month.
However, the 24-year-old came off the bench to open his Premier League account and create a goal for David Luiz in a 3-2 loss to Burnley in their opening game of the 2017-18 season.
Morata made his first Premier League start against bitter rivals Tottenham on Sunday but the Spain international was guilty of missing a clear chance to break the deadlock at Wembley.
His blushes were spared after compatriot Marcos Alonso scored either side of half-time to secure a 2-1 win against their title rivals.
Former Arsenal striker Wright backed Morata to be a hit at Chelsea despite criticising the striker’s big miss last weekend.
“You can’t miss from there. Even if you cost £1m,” Wright told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“It’s the type of header that is the easy chance [to score] that you want on the road.
“You don’t write him off. He has got the pedigree.”
Morata scored his second Premier League goal in the west London side’s 2-0 victory over Everton on Sunday.
Chelsea won the Premier League title with two games to spare last season.
