Chelsea missed out on reported top targets Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku and Juventus defender Alex Sandro to force the English champions to rethink their transfer strategy.
The west London side have signed Manchester City goalkeeper Willy Caballero, AS Roma defender Antonio Rudiger, Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko and Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata.

Former Blues striker Sutton admitted that he would not be surprised if Conte decided to quit the Premier League holders following a frustrating summer transfer window.
“He is being undermined,” Sutton told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“To sell one of your best players to a rival? If he didn’t want him to go and he has been sold then it is a problem. He is extremely agitated.
“If he doesn’t get players in then it wouldn’t surprise me if he walked.”
