Chelsea fail with fresh £63m bid to sign Brazilian – report
Chelsea have failed with their latest attempt to sign Alex Sandro from Juventus, according to reports
Chelsea have failed in their latest attempt to sign Alex Sandro from Juventus this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Blues have had a bid of around £63m rejected by the Italian club as Antonio Conte struggles to secure his fifth signing of the summer transfer window.
The same report states that Conte has made Sandro his top target for the summer but the Blues are struggling to be able to get a deal across the line.
Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move to sign the 26-year-old Brazilian full-back this summer but it appears that they are facing an uphill battle in trying to convince Juve to part company with the defender.
The same report also states that striker Diego Costa has openly defied Chelsea’s calls to return to training at Cobham as the forward pushes for a transfer away from the club this summer.
The speculation comes as Chelsea prepare for their crunch clash against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
The Blues have signed Willy Caballero, Antonio Rudiger, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Alvaro Morata so far this summer.
