The north London side suffered a disappointing 2016-17 campaign as they ended up in fifth place in the Premier League table and missed out on Champions League qualification.
Chelsea, meanwhile, were the Premier League’s most consistent team as they won the title in Conte’s first campaign in charge.
Arsenal, however, did manage to end last season on a high when they beat Chelsea 2-1 in the FA Cup final to win the competition for the third time in four years.
Conte is now hoping that his side will be able to defend their Premier League title next season.
However, the Italian is aware of the increased competition from other clubs, and he is tipping Arsenal to be one of the main challengers for the title next term.
Conte is quoted as saying by the Daily Express: “Arsenal is a potential rival this season. I consider Arsenal one of the six teams ready to fight to win the title.
“I consider Arsene Wenger one of the best coaches.
“He had a lot of time to build his team, his squad. Arsene Wenger is one of the best in the world and Arsenal is one of the best teams.
Chelsea are also preparing for a return to the Champions League this season following their title triumph last term.
Arsenal, meanwhile, will have to make do with Europa League football for the first time at The Emirates after the Gunners ended up in fifth place in the table last term.
