Chelsea, Liverpool could make late bid to sign top 24-year-old attacker – report
Chelsea or Liverpool could be set to try and make a late bid to sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal this summer
Chelsea or Liverpool could be set to make a late move to try and sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Telegraph is claiming that the Blues and the Reds are considering testing Arsenal’s resolve with a bid for the 24-year-old midfielder, whose future has been a source of speculation this summer.
The same story says that Oxlade-Chamberlain’s future at Arsenal remains up in the air, with the midfielder’s current contract set to expire at the end of this season.
It is also claimed that Arsenal have already offered the England international a new contract worth more than £100,000 a week, but the player feels under no pressure to commit and make a decision amid the reported interest from Chelsea and Liverpool.
Oxlade-Chamberlain will be hoping to start for Arsenal when the north London side take on Liverpool in their crunch Premier League game at Anfield.
The midfielder has been largely playing in a wing-back role for the Gunners in recent months.
Arsenal have signed two players so far this summer after having tied up deals for Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette.
