Roy Keane explains why he doesn’t like Chelsea very much
Manchester United legend Roy Keane has his say on Chelsea and their recent successes
Roy Keane has admitted that he is not a big fan of Chelsea.
The Blues have become one of the most successful teams in England since being bought by Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich back in 2003.
The west London side have won five Premier League titles, four FA Cups and the Champions League since Abramovich took charge of the club more than 10 years ago.
Before their title triumph in 2004-05 under Jose Mourinho, Chelsea’s only previous top flight win was in the 1954–55 season.
And Manchester United legend Keane has admitted that he is not the biggest fan of Chelsea.
Speaking on Sky Sports on Tuesday night, former Manchester United captain Keane bluntly said: “I remember growing up watching Liverpool in the 80s – brilliant. I had respect for Arsenal.
“But I’ve always found it hard to, kind of, like Chelsea. The way they’ve done it, it’s still hard to praise them too much. But that’s just a personal thing.”
Chelsea won the Premier League title under Antonio Conte last season but kicked off the new campaign with a disastrous 3-2 loss to Burnley at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
The Blues will now look to get back to winning ways when they take on Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley on Sunday afternoon.
Chelsea, who have signed four new players so far this summer, are also preparing for a return to the Champions League next month after missing out on a place in Europe last term.
