Chelsea want to sign Southampton defender Cedric Soares this month, according to reports
Chelsea have turned their attention towards signing Cedric Soares from Southampton as they look to bolster their defence before the end of the month, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Telegraph is reporting that the Blues want to bring in at least three more players before deadline day and have now set their sights on Portugal defender Soares.
The same report states that Chelsea are keen to sign the 25-year-old to add further options in the wide positions ahead of the Blues’ return to the Champions League next month.
The story also claims that Chelsea remain interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain defender Serge Aurier, and Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Chelsea have signed four players so far this summer after having tied up deals for Willy Caballero, Antonio Rudiger, Alvaro Morata and Tiemoue Bakayoko.
But Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is thought to be very keen to further bolster his squad as he looks to assemble a team capable of fighting on four fronts this season.
Chelsea suffered a shock 3-2 loss to Burnley in their Premier League opener last weekend and now turn their attentions towards taking on bitter rivals Tottenham at Wembley on Sunday afternoon.
