Chelsea are keen on signing Jamie Vardy from Leicester City this summer but are yet to make an official offer to try and sign the striker, according to reports in the British media.

The Daily Mail is reporting that the Blues have placed Vardy as one of their potential summer transfer targets before the window closes next Thursday.

The 30-year-old is widely regarded as one of the Premier League’s top strikers and he was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal last summer before he opted to stay and sign a new contract at the King Power Stadium.

The same report in the Daily Mail says that Vardy remains on Chelsea’s “radar” but that the Blues have still not made an official bid to try and sign him from Leicester.

Chelsea are believed to still be on the lookout for attacking reinforcements this summer as Diego Costa remains away from Chelsea in self-imposed exile.

The Blues have signed four players so far this summer after having tied up deals for Willy Caballero, Antonio Rudiger, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Alvaro Morata.

Chelsea are now preparing for their Premier League clash against Everton on Sunday as they look to build on their 2-1 victory over Tottenham at Wembley last weekend.
