Ian Wright’s three-word reaction to reports Chelsea will sign 24-year-old
Ian Wright was not happy to learn about reports linking Chelsea with Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Ian Wright has admitted that talk of Chelsea signing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal before Thursday’s transfer deadline is extremely disappointing.
The Blues have been heavily linked with a move to bring the midfielder to Stamford Bridge this summer, with Oxlade-Chamberlain also said to be attracting interest from Liverpool.
The 24-year-old Arsenal midfielder has less than one year left to run on his Gunners contract and it remains to be seen where he will be playing his football once the transfer window drops shut on Thursday night.
The England international has started all three of Arsenal’s Premier League games so far this season, including the 4-0 thrashing by Liverpool on Sunday, when he was substituted at half-time.
And Arsenal legend Wright could not hold back his disappointment at suggestions that Chelsea are closing in on the signature of the midfielder.
Asked for his reaction to the reports of Oxlade-Chamberlain joining Chelsea, Wright said on BBC Radio 5 Live: “That’s disappointing news.”
Arsenal have made a disastrous start to the new season, with the Gunners having lost two of their opening three Premier League games to end up in 16th place.
It remains to be seen whether the Gunners will bring in any new players before Thursday’s transfer deadline.
