Chelsea ready to spend £120m on three new signings – report
Chelsea are ready to spend £120m on signing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Danny Drinkwater and Virgil van Dijk, say reports
Chelsea are getting ready to spend £120m on three new signings this summer, starting with Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is claiming that the Blues are ready to spend big to bolster their squad in the closing few days of the summer transfer window.
The same report says Chelsea are ready to test Arsenal’s resolve with a £35m bid for Oxlade-Chamberlain, and that they are also ready to move for Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater and Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk.
The same story says Chelsea want to sign defender Van Dijk, despite Southampton’s insistence that the player is not for sale this summer.
The article claims that the Blues are also preparing a fresh move for Drinkwater, after reportedly having already had a £15m bid turned down.
Chelsea suffered a disastrous start to the Premier League season on Saturday when they were beaten 3-2 by Burnley in front of their home fans.
The Blues have signed Willy Caballero, Antonio Rudiger, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Alvaro Morata so far this summer.
Chelsea are now preparing for their crunch Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley on Sunday afternoon as they look to get back to winning ways.
