Chelsea signing Tiemoue Bakayoko sends message to the Blues fans ahead of Sunday's clash against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley
Tiemoue Bakayoko has handed Chelsea a fitness boost with a cryptic Instagram update ahead of Sunday’s clash against Tottenham Hotspur.
The French midfielder missed the start of the season as Bakayoko continued his recovery from a knee operation earlier this summer.
Bakayoko moved to the defending Premier League champions in a £40m deal from Ligue 1 title holders AS Monaco last month.
Chelsea lost on penalties to Arsenal in the Community Shield earlier this month after Thibaut Courtois and Alvaro Morata missed their spot-kicks in the shootout.
The west London side made a poor start to the defence of their top-flight crown after nine man Chelsea lost 3-2 to Burnley at Stamford Bridge in their season opener.
Chelsea will be without Gary Cahill and Cesc Fabregas for Sunday’s derby clash against Tottenham at Wembley after the Blues duo were sent off against Burnley.
But Bakayoko appeared to suggest on his Instagram page that he is already thinking about his potential comeback ahead of Chelsea’s second game of the 2017-18 season.
The Chelsea signing posted the above snap and wrote the following caption on his Instagram account: “Steady & focus 👀 #tb14 💙⚪️”
Chelsea have also signed Manchester City goalkeeper Willy Caballero, AS Roma defender Antonio Rudiger and Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata in the summer transfer window so far.
