Chelsea could spend more than £30m on signing 27-year-old midfielder – report
Chelsea are still in talks to sign Danny Drinkwater from Leicester City this summer, say reports

Chelsea could be set to spend more than £30m on signing Danny Drinkwater from Leicester City before Thursday’s transfer deadline, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Telegraph is reporting that the Blues could be set to pay a fee “north” of £30m for the 27-year-old England international as Antonio Conte looks to bolster his squad before the transfer window closes on Thursday.
The same report says Chelsea are ready to continue with negotiations to sign Drinkwater, but that Leicester are thought to want a fee close to £40m for the midfielder.
The same story says that the player himself is keen on a move to Stamford Bridge as Conte looks to bring in more signings before the window drops shut on Thursday night.
Chelsea have been linked with a host of players during the summer transfer window but they have only so far concluded deals to sign Willy Caballero, Antonio Rudiger, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Alvaro Morata.
The Blues made it two wins from their opening three games of the season on Sunday when they secured a 2-0 victory over Everton at Stamford Bridge thanks to goals from Cesc Fabregas and Morata.
The west London side return to action after the international break with trip to Leicester City on Saturday 9 September.
