Chelsea want top 26-year-old to hand in transfer request – report
Chelsea are hoping Alex Sandro will hand in a transfer request to force Juventus to sell the left-back, according to reports
Chelsea are relying on Alex Sandro handing in a transfer request to complete a deal to sign him from Juventus, according to reports in England.
The Evening Standard is reporting that the Premier League champions are still working on a deal to sign the Brazil international in the summer transfer window.
Chelsea have already failed with offers of £52m and £60m for the 26-year-old left-back but the Blues are not giving up on signing the South American defender.
The same article states that the west London side are hoping that Sandro will hand in a transfer request to force Juventus into selling their full-back.
The Blues are ready to offer Sandro a contract worth in excess of £100,000 a week, which would double the Brazil defender’s current wage packet.
Chelsea have signed four players in the summer transfer window so far after Antonio Conte won the Premier League title in his first season in charge.
Manchester City goalkeeper Willy Caballero, AS Roma defender Antonio Rudiger, Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko and Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata have all been added to the squad.
The Blues lost 3-2 to Burnley in their opening Premier League game of the 2017-18 season.
