Chelsea willing to be patient to get best deal for 28-year-old striker – report
Chelsea are prepared to wait until the end of the transfer window to get the possible deal for Diego Costa, according to reports
Chelsea are willing to wait until the end of the transfer window in an attempt to get the best possible deal for Diego Costa, according to reports in England.
The Daily Star is reporting that the Premier League champions are prepared to show patience and allow a deal to sell the Spain international to go down right to the wire.
The same article states that the Blues have put a £50m price tag on Costa amid interest from Spanish side Atletico Madrid and Serie A giants AC Milan.
The 28-year-old striker is understandably keen to get his future sorted out as soon as possible with the new season looming on the horizon.
According to the same story, Chelsea striker Costa hasn’t rejected a move to AC Milan but it is thought the Spanish centre-forward would prefer a return to Atletico Madrid.
Costa was a key part of Antonio Conte’s team that won the Premier League title last season in their first season under the Italian’s stewardship.
However, the striker’s haul of 20 goals hasn’t been enough to persuade Conte to stick with the centre-forward despite their tempestuous relationship.
Chelsea have already signed Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata in a £58m deal.
