Chelsea ready to rival Man United for 28-year-old attacker – report
Chelsea are prepared to rival Manchester United for the signing of Gareth Bale this summer, according to reports in Spain
Chelsea have joined Manchester United in the race to sign Real Madrid star Gareth Bale, according to reports in Spain.
Spanish newspaper Marca, as quoted by the Daily Star, is reporting that Real Madrid have offered Bale to Manchester United in a £90m deal in the summer transfer window.
The same article states that Premier League champions Chelsea are also interested in signing the former Tottenham Hotspur winger.
Manchester United have been left frustrated in their pursuit of Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic after the Serie A giants placed a £48m price tag on the Croatia international.
Ironically, Chelsea have also failed to convince Italian midfielder Antonio Candreva from Inter as Antonio Conte looks to reunite with the 30-year-old.
Bale would presumably be a big-name and world-class alternative to both Perisic and Candreva for Manchester United and Chelsea.
The Welsh forward could risk upsetting his former club Tottenham and their supporters should the forward complete a move to either of their title rivals.
Bale is facing an uncertain future at Real Madrid amid talk of los Blancos signing Monaco teenager Kylian Mbappe.
The Madrid winger won his third Champions League title with the Spanish giants last term.
