Chelsea want to sign 27-year-old PSG midfielder – report
Chelsea are considering a move to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak, say reports
Chelsea are considering a move for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak after their bid for Danny Drinkwater stalled over Leicester’s £40m asking price, according to reports in the British media.
The Sun is reporting that Chelsea could switch their attentions towards trying to land Krychowiak this summer after having failed to agree a fee with Leicester for Drinkwater.
The same report says that Chelsea have already had a bid of around £20m rejected by Leicester City for Drinkwater as Antonio Conte searches for his fifth summer signing.
Leicester are said to want a fee closer to £40m for the England midfielder this summer, and that could apparently prompt Chelsea to look at other options.
The story says that Poland star Krychowiak has emerged as another option for the west London side as Conte looks to bolster his midfield options at Stamford Bridge.
However, it is suggested that Krychowiak would only be allowed to leave PSG on loan this summer following the arrival of Neymar from Barcelona.
Chelsea are currently preparing for a return to the Champions League this season, having signed four players so far this summer.
The Blues have brought in Willy Caballero, Antonio Rudiger, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Alvaro Morata.
