Chelsea are set to hold talks with Everton about the possibility of signing Ross Barkley in a £30m deal after the two teams clash at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, according to reports in the British media.

The Sun is reporting that the Blues are ready to try and step up their attempts to land Barkley before the transfer window closes on Thursday night.

The same report says that Barkley is one of three players Chelsea still want to sign this summer, along with Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Leicester’s Danny Drinkwater.

The story claims that Tottenham are also interested in signing Barkley from Everton this summer, but that Chelsea are ready to try and make a move to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

The same report says that Tottenham are willing to pay up to £28m for Barkley, who is thought to want wages of around £150,000 a week if he leaves Everton.

Chelsea have signed four players so far this summer after having tied up deals for Willy Caballero, Antonio Rudiger, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Alvaro Morata.

The west London club are still thought to be keen on further reinforcements, however, as Conte looks for his side to challenge for silverware on four fronts this season.
