Antonio Conte has refused to put a date on when Eden Hazard could return to action for Chelsea.

The Belgium international missed the start of the season due to an ankle injury as he continues his recovery from surgery.

Hazard went under the knife back at the start of the summer after suffering an amkle fracture while on international duty with Belgium at the end of last season.

The 26-year-old will be hoping to make his return to action in the coming weeks, and the playmaker has been working hard on his fitness levels at Chelsea’s Cobham training base over the summer.

However, Conte has admitted that he cannot yet be sure when Hazard will make his return to action for the west London club.

Asked about Hazard at his pre-match news conference on Friday afternoon, Conte replied: “It’s difficult to give a time or a date. Difficult, difficult.”

Hazard was one of Chelsea’s key players last season as he helped the Blues win the Premier League title in Conte’s first campaign in charge at the west London club.

The Blues are now preparing for a return to the Champions League this season after missing out on a spot last term.
