Journalist delivers latest news on Alexis Sanchez and his Arsenal future
Kaveh Solhekol says Alexis Sanchez will not be leaving Arsenal in the summer transfer window as things stand
Arsenal will be keeping Alexis Sanchez at the club beyond the summer transfer window, according to Kaveh Solhekol.
The Chile international’s future has been a relentless source of speculation in recent months because he has entered into the final 12 months of his contract at The Emirates and has not yet signed a new deal.
Arsene Wenger has recently stated that Arsenal have no intention of selling the 28-year-old and will make him see out the remainder of his contract, even if it means him leaving the club on a free transfer next summer.
Now, Sky Sports News reporter Solhekol has once again underlined Arsenal’s stance on Sanchez as the new Premier League season looms large.
Speaking on Sky Sports News on Wednesday morning, Solhekol said: “Let’s start at Arsenal and the latest on Alexis Sanchez. Is he going to stay or is he going to go?
“He has just one year left on his contract but Arsenal refusing to let him go.
“Arsene Wenger says that the decision has been made to keep Sanchez.”
He added: “Sanchez has been ruled out of Friday’s game against Leicester, and possibly for up to two weeks with an abdominal strain.
Arsenal are currently gearing up for their Premier League opener against Leicester City at The Emirates on Friday night as they look to start the season with a win.
The north London side will be aiming to improve their top-flight form next term after they ended up in fifth place in the Premier League last season and missed out on Champions League qualification.
Sanchez signed for Arsenal from Barcelona in a big-money transfer back in the summer of 2014.
