In this review, we’re going to take a close look at Lean Degree, checking out the ingredients as well as reading some customer reviews.
Lean Degree Maximum Strength is a supplement designed to help with weight management and is described by PhD Supplements as their “strongest” ever product of this type.
The manufacturer says that it has been designed to deliver “serious results” and using potent ingredients.
Although they do not refer to it directly as one, we can place this product in a wider category called ‘fat burners’.
These are supplements containing a blend of ingredients designed to help boost your natural ability to burn fat.
The website says that it’s aimed at both men and women and that it has been specifically formulated to help you achieve your body goals.
Let’s take a closer look at the ingredients to see what Lean Degree is made of.
Like most fat burners, Lean Degree contains a number of different ingredients and stimulants.
There are some good inclusions in the list, but there are also some key ingredients missing in our opinion. But more on that later.
Green Tea Extract – This is a very common ingredient in supplements of this type.
Green Tea carries a number of health benefits and has become a regular feature in many products in the fitness industry.
It acts as a natural thermogenic, which means it can boost your metabolism and increase the rate at which your body burns calories.
Green Tea also contains a small amount of caffeine, which could be useful in helping you stay alert.
Caffeine – Another classic ingredient. Caffeine is the most popular stimulant on the planet and coffee drinks will need no introduction to it.
Although there is not much evidence linking caffeine directly to fat loss (some claim it can actually encourage your body to use fat as an energy source) it does have other benefits – namely, energy!
Caffeine is a natural stimulant and will therefore help you to feel energised. If you’re feeling good, you’re more likely to want to train harder and squeeze out that extra rep in the gym.
Cayenne Pepper Extract – This is another ‘must-have’ ingredient in supplements of this type.
Cayenne Pepper is a powerful thermogenic. Due to its spicy nature, it can raise your body’s core temperature, meaning that it has to burn more calories as it cools itself down again.
It also has another benefit – Cayenne can act as an appetite suppressant as well, meaning it could make it easier to stick to your diet.
It’s something that’s often overlooked in fat burning supplements so it’s great to see it included in Lean Degree. The only issue we have is that the dosage is quite low.
Green Coffee Bean Extract – This is another great inclusion and an ingredient which is too often overlooked.
Before they’re roasted, coffee beans are extremely rich in Chlorogenic Acid. This is great for a supplement like this because it can help to lower body fat percentage as well as slow down the rate at which you absorb fat from food.
It’s great to see that Green Coffee Bean makes the cut.
Black Pepper Extract – If you’ve read our supplement reviews before, you’ll know that we’re huge fans of black pepper extract.
We consider it to be an absolutely key ingredient in any supplement because of its magic ability to increase the rate at which your body absorbs the other ingredients in the product.
Lean Degree contains Bioperine, which is essentially branded black pepper extract.
Other ingredients included in Lean Degree include Alpha lipoic acid, Bitter orange peel, L-Carnitine L-Tartrate and Dandelion root.
While we were quite impressed by the ingredients on the label of this product, there are still a number of things missing.
We were disappointed to see that Glucomannan wasn’t included. We always tend to look for it in products of this nature because it’s a powerful dietary fibre which can help to suppress appetite (and make it easier to stick to your diet!).
We also think that products of this type need to include things like Zinc and B Vitamins to be classified as a truly premium product.
Chromium is another trace element we always want to see included in fat burners.
So, Lean Degree does tick a lot of boxes but there are definitely better products which contain all of the both out there right now.
First off, you should always carefully check the label to make sure that you’re not allergic to any of the ingredients.
The main thing to be aware of with products of this type is the caffeine content.
Each capsule of Lean Degree contains 100mg of caffeine, which is quite a lot, especially if you’re going to be consuming four capsules a day.
We also noted that there are some reports of bitter orange and caffeine causing problems when mixed together, so that’s another thing to bear in mind.
Each bottle of Lean Degree Maximum Strength contains 100 capsules. The label says that you should take two capsules twice a day.
They recommend that you take your first serving 30 minutes before exercise if you’re training.
There’s a warning on the website saying not to take this product after 5pm, presumably because the caffeine content could affect your sleep.
We weren’t able to find too many reviews of this product online.
However, the few we did find were on Amazon and they were largely positive.
One customer said that they really felt the benefits and that Lean Degree didn’t give them the ‘shakes’.
Another user said they had noticed a difference straight away after they started taking them, and someone else said they were using Lean Degree as an effective pre workout supplement.
It’s a good option but falls short of being one of the top products out there right now. Although Lean Degree does tick a lot of the boxes in terms of ingredients, there are some key things missing in our opinion, and the doses of what is included could be stronger.

As we always say when talking about products like this, they should not be the focus of your health and fitness regimen.
The first thing you should do is make sure that your overall health is in check by eating right and exercising regularly.
Only then should you consider adding a supplement like Lean Degree Max Strength to your regimen.
Remember, there’s no such thing as a ‘magic pill’!
So, is this a good fat burner option for you? There are some good and bad things about Lean Degree, here it is in a nutshell:
– Good ingredients
– Popular brand
– Missing things like Zinc and B Vitamins
– High caffeine content could be a problem
– Caffeine and Bitter Orange could cause issues

So there we have it, our review of PhD Lean Degree Maximum Strength. We’ve walked you through the ingredients list and also pointed out a few aspects in which this product falls a bit short of the competition. Overall, this is a pretty strong product but we can’t help but feel that there are definitely better options elsewhere at the moment.
