Jamie Carragher was quick to remind Liverpool fans of Trent Alexander-Arnold’s roots after the teenager’s impressive goal in a 2-1 victory over Hoffenheim on Tuesday night.
The young right-back was named in Jurgen Klopp’s starting line-up for the first leg of their Champions League playoff in Germany with a place in the group-stage draw up for grabs.
Alexander-Arnold equipped himself well in the first-leg clash and provided a constant threat down the right wing with some teasing crosses into the opposition area
But the England Under-21 international’s best moment came just before half-time when Alexander-Arnold showed the confidence to take a free-kick on the edge of the area.
The 18-year-old placed a superb finish into the corner of the net to score a vital away goal ahead of the return leg at Anfield next week.
And Carragher put up the below photo on his Twitter page of the Liverpool goal-scorer as a mascot to remind Liverpool fans of just how young Alexander-Arnold is.
