Ian Wright claims Liverpool star worth £200m after 4-2 win over Hoffenheim
The Arsenal legend believes Liverpool forward Sadio Mane is worth more than £200m after Wednesday night's win over Hoffenheim
Ian Wright has claimed that Sadio Mane is easily worth in excess of £200m after the African forward’s devastating performance in Liverpool’s 4-2 win against Hoffenheim on Wednesday night.
The Senegal international has stepped up in the absence of Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho amid continued uncertainty surrounding the Brazilian’s future at Anfield.
Barcelona are thought to be preparing a fourth offer in the region of £136m to sign the 25-year-old attacker before the close of the summer transfer window.
Mane has scored in both of Liverpool’s Premier League games in the 2017-18 season, but his best performances have come in the Champions League playoffs so far.
The African forward proved a nuisance in Liverpool’s 2-1 win against Hoffenheim last week before Mane was at his best during Wednesday night’s clash at Anfield.
Mane teed up Emre Can for the opening goal before Mohamed Salah and the Germany international extended the home side’s lead before Mark Uth’s effort.
Brazilian forward Roberto Firmino made it 4-1 in the second half to score against his former club before Germany forward Sandro Wagner netted a late consolation.
Ex Arsenal striker Wright claimed that Mane is worth double Coutinho’s valuation given his increasingly influential performances in the Champions League and the Premier League.
Wright wrote on Twitter: “If Coutinho’s 100 and odd million, Mane’s 200and odd million ”
Mane moved to Liverpool in a £30m deal from Southampton in the 2016 summer transfer window.
