Martin Keown states his prediction for Liverpool v Arsenal
The Arsenal legend is backing Arsene Wenger's side to leave Liverpool with a 2-2 draw
Martin Keown is tipping Arsenal to secure a 2-2 draw with Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners will be hoping to bounce back from a 1-0 loss to Stoke City after Jese Rodriguez scored a second-half winner at the bet365 Stadium.
Arsenal started the 2017-18 campaign with a 4-3 win against Leicester City at The Emirates in the opening Premier League game of the new season.
Liverpool are a point ahead of Arsenal in the Premier League table following last weekend’s 1-0 win against Crystal Palace after a 3-3 draw at Watford earlier this month.
The Reds secured their place in the Champions League group stage last week thanks to a 6-3 aggregate victory over Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim.
Liverpool were 3-1 winners against Arsenal in their last Premier League meeting to help secure a fourth-place finish ahead of Arsene Wenger’s side.
Former Gunners defender Keown is tipping Liverpool and Arsenal to play out a 2-2 draw at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
“Both teams possess lightning pace in attack and the defences could be under real pressure,” Keown told the Daily Mail.
“I cannot see Arsenal winning at Anfield — they have not won there since 2012 — so a draw would be a good result for them.
“I can see this ending 2-2.”
Liverpool finished in fourth place last term after finishing above the Gunners in the Premier League table.
The north London side have signed Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette and Schalke 04 defender Sead Kolasinac this summer.
Liverpool have added Mohamed Solanke, Dominic Solanke and Andy Robertson.
