Steven Gerrard sends message to Liverpool supporters about two summer signings
The former Liverpool captain issues his backing for Jurgen Klopp's two new signings Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson
Steven Gerrard has heaped praise on Jurgen Klopp for making two good additions to the Liverpool squad in Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson.
The Reds secured the signing of Salah last month after the Egypt international completed a £39m move to Liverpool from Serie A giants AS Roma.
Klopp has also brought in Hull City defender Andy Robertson in an £8m deal to improve his options at left-back.
Salah has already scored against Watford in Liverpool’s 3-3 draw at Vicarage Road before the winger netted in Wednesday night’s 4-2 win against Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim.
The Liverpool boss gave Robertson his first-team debut on Saturday afternoon as the full-back scooped the man of the match award for his performance in a 1-0 win against Crystal Palace.
Former Liverpool captain Gerrard has been impressed with both Salah and Robertson since their pair moved to the Anfield outfit.
“I’m very pleased [with how Liverpool are progressing under Klopp],” Gerrard told BT Sport on Wednesday evening.
“More importantly the supporters, they’re all right behind him. I think he’s made really good signings in Salah, Robertson looked impressive at the weekend.
“Hopefully he can get a few more in before the deadline but very, very pleased.”
Liverpool finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last term to secure a return to the Champions League.
The Reds were 6-3 winners against German side Hoffenheim on Wednesday night to book their place in the group-stage draw.
The Merseyside outfit will host Arsenal in their next Premier League fixture at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
