Reporter gives latest update on Philippe Coutinho for Liverpool fans
Philippe Coutinho is still hankering for a transfer away from Liverpool to sign for Barcelona this summer, say reports
Philippe Coutinho is feeling “very low” and still wants to leave Liverpool to sign for Barcelona this summer, according to Kaveh Solhekol.
The 25-year-old playmaker’s future has been a relentless source of speculation in recent weeks, with Barcelona having been heavily linked with a move to bring the 25-year-old playmaker to Camp Nou.
Coutinho himself is thought to be keen on a switch to Barcelona and was reported to have handed in a transfer request in a bid to force through a move to the Spanish club.
However, Liverpool appear to be remaining firm in their stance that Coutinho is not for sale this summer.
Now, Sky Sports News reporter Solhekol has revealed that the player himself is not happy about his situation and still wants to seal a transfer to Barcelona.
Speaking on Sky Sports News on Friday morning, Solhekol said: “What does Barcelona signing Ousmane Dembele mean for the future of Philippe Coutinho?
“We’re told that nothing has changed as far as he’s concerned. He still wants to leave Liverpool and go to Barcelona. But he is worried that the Dembele move could affect his future.
“We’re told his mood at the moment is very low.”
Liverpool are currently preparing for their Premier League clash against Arsenal at Anfield as they look to make it back to back wins in the top flight in front of their home fans.
Sadio Mane scored the only goal of the game last weekend as the Reds sealed a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Anfield.
