Jurgen Klopp sends open message to Liverpool fans about Philippe Coutinho
Jurgen Klopp once again insists that Liverpool have no plans to sell Philippe Coutinho this summer
Jurgen Klopp has once again moved to dismiss suggestions that Liverpool could sell Philippe Coutinho this summer.
The Brazilian’s future has been a constant source of speculation in recent weeks amid claims that Barcelona are keen to bring him to Spain.
Those reports are likely to heighten in the coming days and weeks after Paris Saint-Germain completed a world-record transfer deal to sign Neymar and Barcelona are set to start looking for a replacement.
However, Liverpool boss Klopp has once again underlined his stance that Coutinho is not for sale this summer.
Klopp is quoted as saying by the Daily Express: “Everybody thought ‘he’s going, he’s going, he’s going’ but so far nobody is going.
“If we stay together like this there will be a few hard decisions because they can’t start all together. Then we have to see how this works.”
It remains to be seen whether the Reds will indeed keep hold of Coutinho beyond the summer transfer window.
Liverpool are currently gearing up for a return to the Champions League after Klopp led the Reds to a fourth-placed finish last season.
The Merseyside outfit will kick off their Premier League campaign with a home clash against Watford on 12 August at Anfield as they look to mount a serious title challenge this season.
Klopp was brought in as Liverpool’s new manager back in October 2015 following the sacking of Brendan Rodgers.
