Steve McManaman makes prediction about Liverpool signings
Steve McManaman believes it is obvious that Jurgen Klopp wants to make more signings still this summer
Steve McManaman is convinced that Jurgen Klopp wants to bring more players to Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
The Reds have signed three players so far this summer, after having tied up deals for Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson and Dominic Solanke.
However, Liverpool continue to be linked with a number of other players this summer ahead of the close of the summer transfer window at the end of the month.
Virgil van Dijk is one player to have been heavily linked with a possible move to Anfield this summer but a deal for the Southampton defender has not yet been agreed.
And former Liverpool star McManaman believes that it is clear that Klopp wants to bring in further reinforcements before the close of the transfer window later this month.
Speaking on BT Sport’s Premier League Tonight show on Saturday, McManaman said: “I think we know that the manager wants to bring in more reinforcements.
“We’ve said this before, they are not strong enough to do battle and go really deep in all four cup competitions this season, including the Premier League this year.
“The fact that they’ve been linked with Van Dijk, we know that Klopp wants to bring more people in.”
Liverpool picked up their first Premier League victory of the season on Saturday when Sadio Mane’s goal handed them a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Anfield.
The Reds are now preparing for their crunch Premier League clash against Arsenal at Anfield on Sunday afternoon as they look to make it back to back home wins in the top flight.
