Liverpool are interested in signing Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal, according to social media transfer insider Indykaila News.
The award-winning Twitter account sent out an update on Tuesday night claiming that Liverpool have been in touch with the Bundesliga outfit about signing Vidal.
The 30-year-old Chile international has established himself as a key part of Carlo Ancelotti’s team since moving to the German champions from Serie A giants Juventus in 2015.
Vidal has scored 16 times in 88 appearances in all competitions to help Bayern Munich win the Bundesliga title twice and the German Cup.
Liverpool were previously linked with a move to sign RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita but the Reds were unable to reach an agreement with the Bundesliga runners-up.
Transfer insider Indykaila News provided an update on Liverpool’s interest in the South American midfielder ahead of the start of the Premier League season.
Indykalia tweeted: “Exclusive: Liverpool making firm enquires on Vidal. Contact with @FCBayern has be made #LFC.”
One concern for Liverpool fans could be Vidal’s age with the box-to-box midfielder set to turn 31 next May.
Vidal scored 48 times in 171 appearances in all competitions during a decorated five-season stay at Juventus.
The Chile star won the Serie A title four times and the Coppa Italia twice during his stay in Turin.
