Jurgen Klopp wants top 29-year-old to be huge Liverpool signing – report
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is very keen on Barcelona star Ivan Rakitic in the summer transfer window, according to reports
Ivan Rakitic is considering a move to Liverpool and could be included in a deal that would see Philippe Coutinho join Barcelona, according to reports in Spain.
Spanish outlet Diario Gol, as quoted by the Daily Express, is reporting that the Merseyside outfit are eager to sign the Croatia international in the summer transfer window.
The same article states that Jurgen Klopp believes Rakitic would be a significant addition to his Liverpool team for the 2017-18 Premier League season.
The story goes on to suggest that the 29-year-old could play alongside Emre Can and Jordan Henderson in what the German coach considers to be a potential title-winning midfield.
The Croatian midfielder is thought to be weighing up a potential switch to Liverpool after a frustrating final season under the management of Luis Enrique.
Rakitic scored eight goals and made six assists in 32 appearances in La Liga last season, while he started eight of their Champions League fixtures in the 2016-17 campaign.
The talented midfielder has won two La Liga titles, the Champions League and the Copa del Rey since moving to Barcelona in big-money deal from Sevilla in 2014.
Liverpool have signed AS Roma winger Mohamed Salah, Chelsea teenager Dominic Solanke and Hull City left-back Andy Robertson in the summer so far.
