Liverpool have sent a scout to watch Gremio forward Luan, according to reports in Brazil.
Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, is reporting that Liverpool are keeping tabs on the 24-year-old forward in the summer transfer window.
The same article states that the Reds have sent a scout to watch Luan play in Gremio’s 2-1 win against Godoy Cruz in their Copa Libertadores clash on Wednesday night.
According to the story, Luan has entered the final 12 months of his contract to prompt talk of a move to Europe following an impressive spell in his native Brazil.
The Gremio striker has scored six goals and has made six assists in 25 appearances in all competitions in the current campaign so far.
Luan has been dubbed the “next Ronaldinho” but the forward has only earned one Brazil cap in his career so far.
Liverpool are facing a battle to keep their Brazil star Philippe Coutinho amid interest from La Liga giants Barcelona.
The Catalan side have already failed with three bids to sign the former Inter Milan midfielder this summer.
Former Gremio midfielder Lucas Leiva quit Liverpool after a 10-year spell at Anfield to move to Lazio last month.
