Ex-striker sends ‘perfect’ advice to Philippe Coutinho about Liverpool transfer
The former Liverpool forward doesn't want to see Philippe Coutinho leave Anfield this summer
Luis Garcia has urged Philippe Coutinho and Neymar to stay put this summer.
Neymar has been linked with a move to Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain in the current transfer window despite his decorated spell at Barcelona alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.
The uncertainty surrounding the Brazil striker’s future has impacted Liverpool’s transfer plans as the La Liga giants eye Coutinho as a potential replacement for Neymar.
Barcelona are thought to be interested in signing the 25-year-old in a deal worth around £92m, although the Merseyside outfit have set the playmaker’s asking price at £133m.
Coutinho scored 13 goals and made seven assists in 31 appearances in the Premier League last season to help the Reds finish in the top four.
Former Barcelona and Liverpool forward Garcia is hoping that Coutinho and Neymar resist the lure of a lucrative summer move and stay with their current employers.
Garcia wrote on Twitter: “I start feeling strange with the possibility of Neymar leaving Barça and Coutinho Liverpool. Bad feeling !! They are perfect where they are.”
Liverpool are preparing for a return to the Champions League next season after the Reds finished fourth in the table last term under Jurgen Klopp.
