Liverpool FC told exciting 21-year-old forward will cost €100m
Liverpool FC will have to pay €100 (£92m) to sign AS Monaco midfielder Thomas Lemar, Rory Smith says

Liverpool will have to pay €100m to sign Monaco forward Thomas Lemar, according to Rory Smith.
The Reds have entered the race to sign the France international in the final few days of the summer transfer window.
The Merseyside outfit have reportedly made two offers for the 21-year-old attacker but Monaco have turned down Liverpool’s approach.
Lemar has scored eight goals and has made nine assists in 34 appearances in the Ligue 1 last term, while the French forward netted twice and made four goals in the Champions League.
Liverpool have already smashed their transfer record on two occasions in the current transfer window.
The Reds completed a £39m deal to sign Egypt international Mohamed Salah from AS Roma last month.
The 18-time English champions signed RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita in a £48m deal plus add ons on Monday evening.
New York Times reporter Smith has revealed that Monaco are holding out for a transfer fee in the region of €100 (£92m).
“I was told Liverpool had offered €65-70m. Monaco are holding out for €100m,” Smith told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“Liverpool may have said that they’re not going that high and Monaco said see you later. Signing Lemar seems like preparing the ground for Coutinho going to Barcelona next summer.”
Liverpool were 4-0 winners against title rivals Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Daniel Sturridge all got on the score sheet against the Gunners.
