Liverpool FC transfer target begs to leave club before deadline – report
Liverpool FC, Chelsea and Arsenal target Virgil van Dijk is trying to secure a move away from Southampton before Thursday's deadline

Virgil van Dijk is “pleading” with Southampton to be allowed to leave the club this summer, as Liverpool and Chelsea continue to chase the defender, according to reports in the British media.
The Sun is reporting that the 26-year-old Netherlands defender is desperate to try and seal a move away from St Mary’s before the close of the transfer window on Thursday night.
The same report says that Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal are all interested in signing the centre-half, rated at £60m, before the transfer window shuts.
Van Dijk handed in a transfer request earlier this month and he has now backed up that move by holding face to face talks with Southampton as he bids to seal a move away, says the report in the Sun.
Liverpool were thought to be closing in on a deal to sign Van Dijk earlier this summer but the move appeared to fall through when Southampton accused the Reds of an alleged illegal approach and the Merseyside outfit had to issue a statement apologising back in June.
It remains to be seen whether Van Dijk will be granted his wish of a transfer away from St Mary’s before the deadline on Thursday night.
