Barcelona to test Liverpool once more with £136m bid for Coutinho – report
Barcelona are preparing a fourth and final offer for Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho worth £136m, say reports
Barcelona are preparing one more final bid for Philippe Coutinho worth a staggering £136m, according to reports in the British media.
The Sun is reporting that the Spanish giants are getting ready to make one last move to try and tempt Liverpool into selling the 25-year-old playmaker before the close of the transfer window next Thursday.
The same report says that Barcelona are convinced that Coutinho still wants to leave Anfield to sign for Barcelona this summer after he handed in a transfer request earlier this month.
Now, it is being claimed that Barcelona are ready to make a fourth bid of £100m up front, plus a further £36m in add-ons.
The story says that the add-ons involve £9m each time Barcelona qualify for the Champions League over the next four seasons, which most would agree is highly likely.
The same article says that Coutinho would be offered a five-year deal if he were to agree to sign for Barcelona this summer.
Liverpool, however, appear to be determined not to sell their prized asset this summer.
The Reds secured their first Premier League victory of the season last weekend with a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace at Anfield.
The Merseyside outfit are now preparing to welcome Arsenal to Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
