Liverpool boss Klopp in regular contact with exciting 18-year-old attacker – report
Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp has been keeping tabs on Monaco teenager Kylian Mbappe throughout the summer transfer window so far, according to reports in France
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been in regular contact with Monaco about the possibility of signing Kylian Mbappe, according to reports in France.
French newspaper L’Equipe, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo, is reporting that the Reds have been monitoring Mbappe’s situation throughout the summer transfer window.
The France international is thought to be ready to leave the Ligue 1 side before deadline day following the mass exodus at the French champions this summer.
The same article reveals that Liverpool are ready to move to sign the teenager if the 18-year-old makes it know that his preferred destination is the Premier League.
However, the club’s supporters shouldn’t get too excited with the French media outlet reporting that Barcelona, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City have all been linked with Mbappe.
The teenager burst onto the European scene last season after Mbappe scored 15 times in 26 games to help Monaco to see off PSG’s challenge in the Ligue 1 title race.
The exciting forward netted six goals in nine appearances in the Champions League before the French side lost 4-2 to Juventus in the semi-finals.
Liverpool have signed AS Roma winger Mohamed Salah, Chelsea teenager Dominic Solanke and Hull City defender Andy Robertson this summer.
