Jamie Carragher was not best pleased at the final whistle after watching Liverpool squander the lead and end up drawing 3-3 with Watford in their Premier League opener on Saturday afternoon.

Liverpool battled back twice from behind and took the lead in the second, half, only to concede an equaliser deep into stoppage time.

Former Manchester United defender Neville couldn’t help but aim a sarcastic dig at Carragher when he heard about Watford’s late equaliser.

Neville wrote on Twitter: “Just on my way to see @SalfordCityFC v @telfordutd. Any PL updates?”

To which Carragher promptly responded: “F**k off.”

Liverpool fell behind when Stefano Okaka netted an early opener, but Sadio Mane levelled with a cool finish.

However, the Reds went in behind at the break after Abdoulaye Doucoure fired in to make it 2-1 to the hosts.

Liverpool started the second half brightly and took the lead thanks to quick-fire goals from Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.

But Watford ended up clinching a point when Miguel Britos equalised deep into second-half stoppage time.

Liverpool will now dust themselves down as they look to get back on track when the take on Hoffenheim in their Champions League play-off first leg on Tuesday night.
