Anthony Martial has told Manchester United fans that the Red Devils are determined to try and win the Premier League title this season.

Jose Mourinho has just kicked off his second season in charge at Old Trafford after he led the Red Devils to a disappointing sixth-placed finish in the table last term.

However, Mourinho did manage to end last season on a high as he led the Red Devils to Champions League qualification by guiding them to Europa League glory.

Manchester United will now be focused on trying to establish themselves as one of the main contenders for the Premier League title this season, with the Red Devils having not won the trophy since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement back in 2013.

And Manchester United striker Martial, who scored one and set up another in their 4-0 win over West Ham last weekend, is determined to help Mourinho’s men challenge for the title this term.

Martial told Manchester United’s website: “Everybody in the league has been reinforcing, buying players, so it is going to be ever better and much more exciting for everyone – both for us and for those watching the Premier League.

“We also have the Champions League to look forward to again and I think that is a competition that every team wants to win. It is a difficult competition and you have to work hard from the beginning to the end. We will see how it goes. Anything is possible.

“But the main aim is the Premier League title. That is what we want. When you play football you’re playing to win, not to be second or third. So we’re going to do everything we can to achieve this.”

Martial will be hoping to feature for Manchester United when the Red Devils return to Premier League action with a trip to Swansea City on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Devils are currently top of the table after their thumping win over West Ham.
