Man United reject bid from Tottenham for 21-year-old striker – report
Tottenham failed with a bid to sign Manchester United striker Anthony Martial, say reports
Tottenham have had a bid for striker Anthony Martial rejected by Manchester United, according to reports in France.
French outlet RMC Sport, as quoted by the Independent, is reporting that Spurs have made a “concrete” offer to try and sign the France international from the Red Devils this summer.
The same report states that Martial’s future at Old Trafford has been in doubt this summer, with the Red Devils having recruited Romelu Lukaku to lead their line this season.
However, the story claims that Spurs have denied that they’ve made an offer for Martial, but that it is understood that there is genuine interest in Martial from the Lilywhites.
The article says that Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has been on the lookout for a wide forward this summer after long-term target Wilfried Zaha committed his future to Crystal Palace.
Tottenham are yet to make a single signing this summer but the same article says that the north London side are keen to bring in as many as three players before the close of the transfer window at the end of the month.
Spurs are aiming to build on their impressive second-placed finish from last season by challenging for the title once again this term.
