Ryan Giggs sends message to Man United fans about Henrikh Mkhitaryan
Ryan Giggs says he is delighted to have seen Henrikh Mkhitaryan make such a strong start to the new season
Ryan Giggs has admitted that he has been delighted by Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s strong start to the new season at Manchester United.
The Armenia playmaker has been in fine form for the Red Devils and has notched up four assists in two games to help Jose Mourinho’s men secure 4-0 victories over both West Ham United and Swansea City.
Mkhitaryan found himself under the spotlight last season after he struggled to adapt to the rigours of the Premier League following his transfer from Borussia Dortmund last summer.
However, the midfielder improved in the second half of the campaign and helped Manchester United win both the EFL Cup and Europa League in Mourinho’s first campaign in charge.
And former Manchester United star Giggs believes that it is great news for the Red Devils that Mkhitaryan has got his season off to a flyer with some fine displays.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Giggs said: “They look powerful with Nemanja Matic and Romelu Lukaku, but what is pleasing to see is the creative players doing well as well.
“Henrikh Mkhitaryan already has four assists and that will do him the world of good, so hopefully he can get back to his Dortmund form.”
Manchester United are currently flying high at the top of the Premier League table after their strong start to the new campaign.
The Red Devils are now preparing to host Leicester City at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon as they look to maintain their 100 per cent record in the top flight.
