Paul Scholes sends message to Man United fans about Juan Mata
Paul Scholes reveals that he is a keen admirer of Juan Mata in a Manchester United shirt under Jose Mourinho
Paul Scholes has revealed that he is a big fan of Juan Mata at Manchester United.
The Spanish playmaker has been a regular fixture in the first team at Old Trafford since his arrival at the club from Chelsea back in January 2014.
Mata helped Manchester United win the EFL Cup and Europa League last season in Jose Mourinho’s first campaign in charge at the club.
The 29-year-old midfielder found himself on the bench and as an unused substitute during Manchester United’s 2-1 Uefa Super Cup defeat by Real Madrid on Tuesday night in Macedonia.
However, former Red Devils star Scholes has revealed that he is a big fan of the Spain international.
Speaking on BT Sport ahead of the Red Devils’ clash with Real Madrid on Tuesday, Scholes said: “To be fair to Mata, when he comes in he usually does well and usually scores goals.”
Manchester United must now dust themselves down after their defeat by the Spanish champions as they prepare to welcome West Ham United to Old Trafford in their Premier League opener on Sunday afternoon.
The Red Devils, who have signed Romelu Lukaku, Victor Lindelof and Nemanja Matic this summer, will be hoping to drastically improve their Premier League form this season after they ended up in sixth place in the table last term.
