Alan Pardew predicts where Man United will finish
Former Newcastle manager Alan Pardew believes Manchester United are favourites to win the title this season
Alan Pardew is backing Manchester United to win the Premier League title this season.
The Red Devils finished in sixth place in the Premier League table last season despite Jose Mourinho’s appointment as Louis van Gaal’s successor in May 2016.
Manchester United did manage to win the EFL Cup and the Europa League to finish Mourinho’s first season in charge on a positive note.
However, Manchester United have signed Benfica defender Victor Lindelof, Everton striker Romelu Lukaku and Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic in an attempt to close the gap between themselves and their title rivals.
Former Crystal Palace and Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew considers Manchester United to be title favourites to win the Premier League in the 2017-17 season.
“I think the favourites are always the champions until such time that another team evolves and blows Chelsea away,” Pardew told Sky Sports.
“Having said that, I think Manchester is where the title will end up but it might well be Manchester United. I have a good feeling for them.”
The Red Devils lost 2-1 to Champions League holders Real Madrid in the Uefa Super Cup on Tuesday night.
Manchester United started their Premier League campaign with a home clash against West Ham United at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
The 20-time English champions haven’t won the Premier League title since 2013.
