Jamie Redknapp has hailed Anthony Martial as a brilliant impact substitute for Manchester United.

The France international came off the bench to score Manchester United’s fourth goal in a 4-0 victory over Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday lunchtime.

The 21-year-old scored a brilliant individual goal to secure three points and cement Manchester United’s place at the top of the Premier League table.

Martial was on the score sheet in Manchester United’s Premier League opener after the forward netted in Manchester United’s 4-0 win against West Ham following his introduction as a second-half substitute.

The French star struggled to make an impact in his first season under Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford as the Manchester United manager criticised the forward’s attitude.

Martial was linked with a potential move to Serie A giants AS Roma and Inter Milan this summer, while Tottenham Hotspur were reported to have made an offer to sign the ex Monaco forward.

Former Liverpool and Spurs midfielder Redknapp is impressed with Martial’s impact from the bench in the current campaign so far.

“What an option he has in Anthony Martial to change a game,” Redknapp told the Daily Mail.

“Full backs will have been run ragged by Rashford for 75 minutes and then have to face the explosive Martial for the final 15!”

Martial moved to Manchester United in a £36m deal from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco in the 2015 summer transfer window.

The French forward scored 11 times in 49 games in his first campaign at Old Trafford.
