Martin Keown has admitted that he was hugely impressed by the Anthony Martial’s impact when he came on during Manchester United’s 4-0 win over Swansea on Saturday.

Martial came off the bench to score once again and help Jose Mourinho’s side clinch another 4-0 win after having beaten West Ham by the same scoreline in their opener earlier in the month.

The French striker is widely regarded as one of the most promising attackers in the Premier League, but it remains to be seen exactly how much game-time he will get under Mourinho this season.

However, Martial took his tally to two goals in two game at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday as he helped Manchester United cement their place at the top of the Premier League table.

And former Arsenal star Keown was extremely impressed by Martial’s impact and believes that the 21-year-old striker has helped to inject some much-needed pace into the Red Devils side.

Speaking on Premier League Tonight on BT Sport, Keown said: “There’s pace. When we watched Manchester United there are flashes of pace from Martial.

“It’s rapid. He goes past people like they’re not there.

“They’ve got real weaponry at the top of their team that can punish teams.”

Manchester United are now preparing to host Leicester City at Old Trafford on Saturday as Mourinho’s men look to make it three wins from three in the Premier League this season.
