Gary Neville names three players who will determine Man United’s season
Gary Neville claims that Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Romelu Lukaku will be key to Manchester United's success this season
Gary Neville believes that Manchester United’s success this season will be determined by the form of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Romelu Lukaku.
The Red Devils were beaten 2-1 by Real Madrid in the Uefa Super Cup on Tuesday night as they missed their first chance to win a trophy this season.
Manchester United moved quickly to bring in Belgian striker Lukaku from Everton back in July and the forward netted the Red Devils’ goal in the second half against Real Madrid on Tuesday.
Rashford and Martial will both be hoping to have good seasons as Jose Mourinho prepares for his second campaign in charge at Old Trafford.
And former Manchester United defender Neville believes that the three forward players are set to have a major influence on how the season pans out for Mourinho’s men.
Speaking to Sky Sports News on Tuesday, Neville said: “I think they’re in a really good position, the squad looks strong and I think how Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Lukaku play will determine what happens.”
Manchester United, who finished sixth in the table last season, are now preparing for their Premier League opener against West Ham United at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
The Red Devils won the Europa League and EFL Cup in Mourinho’s first campaign at the club but will be desperate to improve their domestic form this term.
