Journalist gives latest update on Man United’s bid to sign top 28-year-old
Manchester United's chances of signing Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan are looking increasingly slim, says Aidan Magee
Manchester United’s chances of signing Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan are looking increasing difficult, according to reporter Aidan Magee.
The Sky Sports News reporter says that the Red Devils have failed to reach an agreement with Inter Milan about the transfer of the 28-year-old winger despite being linked with a move for him throughout the summer.
Magee says that Inter Milan have now made it clear that they want to keep hold of Perisic, meaning that Manchester United could have to look elsewhere for their fourth summer signing.
Speaking on Sky Sports News on Friday morning, Magee said: “Let’s start with Manchester United and their hopes of signing Ivan Perisic look increasingly difficult.
“The Inter Milan winger has been linked with a move to Old Trafford throughout the summer but Inter’s sporting director says the winger will not be sold.”
Manchester United completed their third signing of the summer on Monday when they wrapped up a deal to bring midfielder Nemanja Matic to the club from Chelsea.
The Red Devils have also signed Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku this summer as they gear up for their second season under Jose Mourinho.
Manchester United will take on Real Madrid in the Uefa Super Cup next Tuesday night, before kicking off their Premier League campaign with a home game against West Ham United the following weekend.
The Red Devils are also gearing up for a return to the Champions League next season.
