The left-back has been out of action since April after suffering a knee injury but made his return to action against Swansea City’s Under-23 side on Monday.
Shaw featured for 59 minutes as he got some much-needed minutes under his belt, with the England international likely to be determined to force his way into the first team this season.
Manchester United are currently preparing for their Premier League clash against Leicester City at Old Trafford on Saturday.
And Shaw admits that he cannot wait to get back to action for the first team as he looks to try and help Mourinho’s men challenge for silverware on four fronts this season.
Speaking in an interview with MUTV, Shaw said: “I’m feeling really good and I only push on from here.
“I’m looking for the first-team spot now, I’m going to keep pushing, and when the manager needs me I’m going to be ready.
“Whenever that is, I’m really looking forward to it. I’d rather it was sooner rather than later, but I’m feeling good and whenever I’m called upon, I’m ready.”
Manchester United have been in superb form in Shaw’s absence, with the Red Devils having kicked off their new campaign with back to back 4-0 victories over Swansea City and West Ham United.
The Red Devils are aiming to challenge for the Premier League title this season after the disappointment of their fifth-placed finish last term.
