Jose Mourinho rules out selling Man United star signed by David Moyes
Jose Mourinho insists that Marouane Fellaini will not be sold by Manchester United this summer
Jose Mourinho has ruled out the possibility of Manchester United selling Marouane Fellaini this summer.
There had been reports in the media in recent days suggesting that Turkish side Galatasaray were closing in on a deal to land the Belgian midfielder ahead of next season.
However, Mourinho has now moved to pour cold water on those reports by insisting that Fellaini is too “important” to be sold by the Red Devils this summer.
Mourinho is quoted as saying by ESPN in response to claims Galatasaray want to sign Fellaini: “It is easier for Galatasaray to get me than Marouane. Marouane forget it. He’s very important for me.”
Fellaini joined Manchester United from Everton as the first signing of the David Moyes era back in 2013 and the Belgian international has made more than 80 Premier League appearances for the Red Devils.
He was restricted to just 18 starts in the Premier League last season but made a total of 42 appearances in all competitions in Mourinho’s first campaign in charge last season.
Mourinho is now preparing his team for a return to the Champions League next season after their Europa League triumph last term.
