Michael Owen makes prediction about new Man United signing
Michael Owen is tipping Romelu Lukaku to enjoy a good first season at Manchester United next term
Michael Owen is tipping Romelu Lukaku to enjoy a brilliant first season at Manchester United this term.
The Belgian striker became the Red Devils’ second signing of the summer back in July when he signed for Jose Mourinho’s side from Everton.
Lukaku will be hoping to go some way towards replacing the goals of Wayne Rooney and Zlatan Ibrahimovic after both strikers left Manchester United at the end of last season.
And former Manchester United and Liverpool striker is expecting to see big things from the Belgian forward at Old Trafford next term.
Speaking in an interview with the Premier League’s official website, Owen said: “[I’m most excited to see] Romelu Lukaku.
“He is quick and powerful and will undoubtedly cause problems for defenders. He is a proven Premier League goal-scorer and I am interested to see how Man United set up to get the best out of him.”
Manchester United are currently gearing up for their crunch Uefa Super Cup clash against Real Madrid on Tuesday night, before turning their attentions to their Premier League opener against West Ham at Old Trafford next weekend.
The Red Devils will be hoping to seriously improve their Premier League form next season after they ended up in sixth place in the top-flight table in Mourinho’s first campaign in charge at the club.
Manchester United won both the EFL Cup and Europa League in Mourinho’s first season at Old Trafford.
