Insider tips Man United to make fourth signing before deadline
Jose Mourinho could be set to make a surprise signing for Manchester United this summer, says Ian McGarry

Manchester United could be set to make an off-the-radar signing before Thursday’s transfer deadline, according to former journalist Ian McGarry.
The Red Devils have been busy in the summer transfer window so far, after having wrapped up deals for Victor Lindelof, Romelu Lukaku, Nemanja Matic and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
However, Manchester United continue to be linked with a host of other players as the clock ticks down on the summer transfer window.
Ivan Perisic is one name to have been regularly touted as a possible target for Manchester United this summer, but a move is yet to materialise.
But former Fleet Street journalist McGarry reckons that Mourinho could be poised to bring in a lesser-known player before Thursday’s transfer deadline.
Speaking on the Transfer Window podcast, McGarry said: “I think Jose Mourinho will be desperately trying to do business before the window ends.
“What it might be, is not the big headline marquee signing, it may well be someone who is off the radar, and be someone who can do a job for him.
“He’s done that before at Real Madrid, he’s done that at Chelsea, and at Inter Milan as well.
“It could be something off-the-wall for Manchester United rather than Griezmann or Willian.”
Manchester United are getting ready to compete for the Champions League this season after winning the Europa League last term.
Mourinho’s men will take on Benfica, Basel and CSKA Moscow in the group stage after the draw took place in Monaco last week.
The Red Devils won the Europa League and EFL Cup in Mourinho’s first season in charge at the club last term after his appointment as Louis van Gaal’s successor back in May 2016.
