Frank Lampard predicts where Man United, Tottenham will finish this season
The Chelsea legend expects Man City to finish as runners-up ahead of Man United and Tottenham in the top four
Frank Lampard is tipping Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur to finish behind Manchester City in the title race this season.
The Red Devils have made a scintillating start to the 2017-18 season after Manchester United eased to 4-0 victories over West Ham United and Swansea City in their opening two fixtures.
Tottenham were 2-0 winners against Newcastle United at St James’ Park in their opening game before Spurs suffered a 2-1 loss to Premier League title holders Chelsea at Wembley last weekend.
Manchester City have spent more money on new signings than any other team in the Premier League and eased to a 2-0 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion in their first game of the new campaign.
However, the Citizens dropped points on Monday night following a 1-1 draw with Everton at the Etihad Stadium after Raheem Sterling’s late equaliser cancelled out Wayne Rooney’s goal.
Former Chelsea midfielder Lampard believes Manchester City will finish as runners-up followed by Manchester United in third place and Tottenham in fourth spot.
“Man City [will come second]. Attacking wise they are the best team but it’s whether that comes together,” Lampard told Arsenal Fan TV.
“Manchester United [will come third] and then Tottenham.”
Manchester United have signed Benfica defender Victor Lindelof, Everton striker Romelu Lukaku and Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic in the summer transfer window so far.
The Red Devils finished in sixth place in the Premier League table last term.
